In addition, 60% of acute care nurses report feeling burnt out, and 75% report feeling stressed, frustrated, and exhausted.7And while we may want to blame the pandemic for this burnout, this exodus in the nursing department is not new. “[With] ninety percent of respondents […] considering leaving the nursing profession in the next year […] seventy-two percent of respondents said they were experiencing nurse burnout long before the pandemic.”8
